The making of WEAPONS OF MOSH DESTRUCTIONHaving finished Thrashist Pigs we did one or two shows and then got back to mostly hobbying and jamming on some other stuff for a bit. We wanted to bring another demo sooner than 2012 so we got right on with selecting some songs for the next demo. We chose six, all originals, so there's (sadly) no evergreen being assraped on this collection of bits. We'll see if we can incorporate a cover for our next album. The world needs some metal christmas songs. We'll get back to you by 2016. For this collection of thrash we were working as a four person group again. At least initially. After about a year Pelle decided to leave Necrotaph to pursue a more active musical career in a different band. He was fed up with our 'we're-not-serious-about-this-at-all-this-is-really-just-a-hobby-to-fill-the-time-between-work-sleep-beer-and-D&D' attitude, who can blame him, eh? So that left us with no drummer. Luckily we had a metronome, which gave us the oportunity to work out all the arrangements and put down some basic guitar tracks to work from. So all seemed to be going well and we were on our way to putting out a demo within the year! Yeah, right. Over the past years a lot of really good things happened to us personally, Bolo got married, Jeroen bought a sandbox (with promises of a house being built on it), Bolo became a father (cheers to our youngest fan Lindis!) and Rik landed a new job. This all proved to be enough of an excuse to take a whole other year to finish the demo. Oh yeah, and there was no drummer. This post was filled in, at least for this demo, by Mulder Alesis. You all know Mulder, and you probably know Alesis, you do the math ;-). Technically our approach was a lot different this time 'round. Gone was the Korg D12 harddisk recorder, in came a laptop, a USB audio interface and Cubase. This saved Jeroen a couple of months of his life since this meant he no longer had to manually copy over the harddiskrecordings analog to the computer for post production. This also means that the production is a lot crisper and the limit in tracks was virtually gone (the 48 track limit of Cubase LE proved large enough). Mixing and mastering was done by us ourselves. Decision making on what to pan where, how loud to make the snare, what type of reverb to put on the vocals and how much bass or mids to master it with took a while but once we got a master that translated well to a lot of systems (cars, ipods, TV's, crappy rehearsal shed PA's, computers, cheapass monitors and low-end hifi) we were pretty happy with it. Now go get downloading, crank it up and judge this material for yourselves!!! WEAPONS OF MOSH DESTRUCTIONAs mentioned before there are six, all of which can be downloaded: The songs are (in our suggested order of playing them): Corpus Delictum What's that smell Coming from the apartment Call the cops in Something's rotting Corpus delictum What the fuck now Bloodsplattered walls Gut dripping ceiling Maggots feasting Corpus delictum Chopped up corpses Female raped cadaver Seed dripping slit throat Work of a maniac Corpus delictum Spice up your life Corpus delictum Slice up your wife!
